Project description:

The client is a new Portuguese communications provider that is preparing to assume a leading role on the third generation of mobile communications. This company intended to play an important part in the development of the 'Information Society', planning a very aggressive rollout to cover nearly the total Portuguese population and territory. In this grounding process, the client needed a solution capable of supporting evolving market requirements and services sustained by UMTS standards.

What were your responsibilities on this particular project?

I was responsible for the delivery of the Amdocs-Vitria connector, which was built in Sophia Antipolis by a small team of 3 people.

What was a typical day on the project?

I conducted status meetings with my team and tested the Amdocs-Vitria connector in a proper test environment to detect errors in the code and corrected them. I met with the Siebel team to define how events had to be sent to Vitria, and eventually to the connector. Training Accenture personnel from the local office (Lisbon) for the necessary knowledge transfer of the connector functionalities was also my responsibility. In addition, I met with Amdocs specialists to discuss how EJBs should interact with the connector.

How many people were on your team?

I worked on a team with approximately 10 Accenture colleagues.

What did you do in your spare time on the project?

We worked hard during the day and when possible, I enjoyed going to local restaurants and out for drinks with colleagues from the project in the evening.

What did you enjoy in your role?

On this project, I enjoyed having full responsibility for maintaining, developing and fixing the Amdocs-Vitria connector.

What are your personal interests?
