Senior executive
Consulting
Melbourne
Current project: One of the largest food manufacturers in Australia and New Zealand.

What work do you do and what’s the best part of it?
My current role is the delivery lead of a team that is merging the business systems of two consumer-packaged-goods businesses following an acquisition.

The best parts of the job are the challenges and opportunities I am given, the people that I work with, and the variety of clients’ businesses I get to learn about.

One of my most interesting experiences to date with Accenture was the 2005 leadership development program. Not only was it an honour to be part of an international team given exposure to top global leaders, but also gaining understanding Accenture’s global strategy, and having access to this bright, interesting group of people, was extremely inspiring.

What are your proudest achievements at Accenture?
I am proud of most of the projects that I have worked on at Accenture. Each successful project go-live is a wonderful time: it is where the hard work of the previous one to two years of work culminates in something tangible for a client.

A particular highlight in my career was when I was promoted to senior executive in September 2005. It was always a target of mine, ever since joining as an analyst, to make senior executive (or ‘partner’ as was known back then). It was immensely satisfying to achieve this milestone in my career.

Why did you choose Accenture?
While studying engineering at Melbourne University, I attended career fairs and joined some information sessions about Accenture, and became interested in the work it did. I applied for, and successfully obtained, eight weeks of work experience. Based on that experience, I decided to join Accenture as an analyst once I had graduated.

What have you learnt in the past year at Accenture?
Having just returned to part-time work after 12-months of maternity leave, I have learnt (and am continuing to refine my skills in) how to juggle the responsibilities of raising a young son with my client and Accenture responsibilities.

What advice would you give somebody joining Accenture?
Be prepared to be challenged and work hard on interesting projects in a dynamic environment.

What do you do in your spare time?
At the moment most of my spare time is taken up by my one-year old son Max. He keeps me and my husband Chris on our toes.

The other thing I like to do in my spare time is travel. My photo shows me and my son Max on Ponte Neuf in Paris, it was taken on one of my recent trips with my family in Europe.
