"A career at Accenture is all about growth. There are countless opportunities available which often translate into vertical or horizontal professional progression."

About Me

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, I grew up north of Guelph, Ontario on a small hobby farm. I have attended a number of educational institutions, including University of Toronto and McMaster University, specializing in Linguistics.

Joining Accenture

In 2001, I joined Accenture as an Analyst, attracted to its size and world class reputation. I now work as a Human Resources Senior Specialist in the Enterprise workforce – helping us manage our business and people with a particular focus on training and development, career development, and employee engagement initiatives.

Working Life

Accenture is a fast-paced and exciting company. I currently work as the Career Development Lead, responsible for the creation and implementation of our professional development strategy in Canada. Accenture has many opportunities for growth available to its employees which it promotes avidly.

Balancing Work and Life

Taking advantage of Accenture’s flexible work hour policy enables me to balance my career with my home life. I am very involved in my local church, a not-for-profit provider of high quality leadership training to Christian women, and, in my spare time, I have trained for three full and three “half” marathons.

Current Projects

At Accenture, I have worked with all of the Operating Groups with respect to their training needs (i.e. Communications & High Tech, Financial Services, Public Service, Products and Resources) and am currently responsible for implementing global programs such as New Joiner Orientation, Local Core Analyst training and Milestone schools. One of my most challenging projects to date was the implementation of our e-Learning program in 2001. To complete this initiative, I was able to work with a global team, and innovative new technologies, which I find to be one of the many benefits of working at Accenture.

Advice to Recruits

A career at Accenture is all about growth. There are countless opportunities available which often translate into vertical or horizontal professional progression. It is important that employees take advantage of these opportunities to learn and improve themselves and to make a difference in their sphere of influence.
