Eco Challenge 2009

Eco Challenge is a global staff environmental program of Accenture, by which, Accenture encourages staff members to change their ordinary behaviors to minimize their negative effects on environment. In 2009, Accenture initiates a “carbon emission calculator” activity among global staff members, where they can use such a calculator to estimate their annual carbon emission, and set their own carbon emission reduction target. The regional team that sets the highest target of emission reduction or that has the highest staff participation will be rewarded, and in Greater China, by November 2009, there are already 1,100 employees who have attended this activity.

Save the environment initiatives, Greater China, 2008
To help our local offices meet global environmental standards, several Accenture in Greater China offices were audited for ISO14001 certification at the end of January 2008. A series of environmental pointers and more information were sent to Accenture employees to help them work more responsibly in the workplace.

WeAreWhatWeDo, Hong Kong, 2007
We introduced the concept of WeAreWhatWeDo in our Hong Kong offices in order to generate suggestions for improving everyday actions. This initiative is linked to the save the environment program, but suggestions are not limited to environmental issues.
