In an outsourcing provider like Accenture you are likely to find a wider range of career opportunities, than you would in a functional role in a traditional company. If you want to develop strong managerial skills, projects of such a size can offer you the scope to grow. Throughout your career, you may change roles or take on increased responsibilities. It is natural that people have different career expectations. Alternatively, you may wish to stay in one role for some time, choosing instead to build skills in your particular area. Both directions are equally valuable in the outsourcing business.
Working in outsourcing offers the chance to be part of the leading global business that is Accenture, whilst still enjoying the personal stability that working in a local community can bring. Wherever you are in outsourcing and whichever client you are working for, your career will follow roughly the same path.
Each Accenture employee is responsible for own career. Accenture is committed to providing the tools and resources to help you facilitate your career growth.
Career development is built on following principles: rapid integration of new joiners; motivate and retain key people; building future leaders; link reward to contribution.
Each year you will be given a performance review, and you will get continuous feedback and guidance from those around you.
If you are interested in using your skills to do an excellent long-term job in one position, that’s great. But if you want to accumulate extensive experience, responsibility and qualification and climb the ladder then that’s fine too.
The managerial career path is for people who are good at managing others and who have a well-developed business sense. It includes people in all kinds of roles, but the most typical career in the outsourcing business represents a team leader at a long-term client engagement, the size of the team reaching tens to hundreds of people.
As you progress to the most senior career levels, you may be considered for a broader leadership role and be responsible for the future direction, development and continued success of the outsourcing business.
