Accenture is offering a new way for prospective employees to learn more about what it’s like to work here. Through the Internet phenomenon Second Life, an online, 3-D, virtual world, “residents” get to experience Accenture without leaving their chairs. The Accenture Careers island in Second Life is a place where participants can push their performance and test themselves to the limits – something that we do at Accenture every day.

What to expect?

An aerial tour of the island or a more leisurely boat ride is available to get started. The island’s orientation area explains exactly how to get the most out of the island, the challenges and Second Life. The Careers Central building allows participants to learn a bit more about our career offerings and some of the interesting people who are part of the Accenture team – in English, Spanish, French, German or Italian. The interview building showcases in-world interviews with potential hire candidates. Perusing the event auditorium lets participants discover upcoming events to get to know other like-minded people on the island. Physical, mental and team problem solving skills are tested in our Second Life challenges, such as: Maze Mates – participants navigate through a complex 3D maze as quickly as possible, Disc Challenge – teammates counterbalance each other across four discs. Test Flight – a fun test of accuracy and powers of deduction, providing challengers with the unique opportunity to fling themselves at a giant target! Memory Challenges – individuals view a complex image and remember the details while the clock ticks away.

Accenture Careers island is online around the clock. Participants can talk to automated Accenture bots who can answer questions and steer them in the right direction.
