Accenture Eco Challenge
Do you unplug your mobile phone charger when not in use? Do you pay your bills electronically? Do you use a clothesline instead of a dryer? Do you switch off your TV when not in use instead of leaving it on standby? These are just a few of the surprisingly easy ways people can lessen their environmental impact.
With Accenture's innovative
Eco Challenge
, you can calculate your personal environmental impact and learn how you can make a positive difference.
How it works
You can create a personal Earth Conservation Plan on the
Eco Challenge website
by taking a five-minute quiz that assesses the environmental impact of your work and personal habits and assigns a corresponding score.
You can lower your score by following the recommended behavioral changes provided on the site, such as taking public transportation or carpooling instead of driving, or replacing standard light bulbs with energy efficient ones. You can re-take the test periodically to measure how much your new actions have reduced your carbon “footprint,” or the amount of carbon generated by your lifestyle and behaviors.
