Current Projects
|
Pamela Chin Foo is currently working on project for a major telecommunications company. The project involves the rationalization of the billing structure for multiple lines of products into one integrated system. In particular, she is helping in the design and realization of the web-based e-commerce front-end.
Chin Foo explains, “As part of the Accenture Information Management Services Portal and Content Management specialty, I have spent most of my time at Accenture designing and delivering web solutions in B2E, B2B and B2C contexts.”

Working on Global Teams
|
In 2000, Chin Foo joined Accenture’s office in Sophia Antipolis, France. Thereafter, she relocated to the Paris office, and later to the Sydney office. “Accenture gave me the opportunity to work with people from completely different cultures. In the past six years, I have had the satisfaction of working with Swiss, Germans, French, East Europeans, Americans, Australians, Indians, and most recently Singaporeans and Filipinos,” Chin says enthusiastically.
Accenture’s true global presence also allowed Chin Foo to transfer and move to a completely different continent (Australia) with minimal fuss by sponsoring her work visa application. Being settled there, however, does not mean that she cannot maintain her international network. Annual Accenture Information Management Services workshops (the latest was held in Miami) allow her to catch up with her American and European counterparts regularly and discuss technology evolution from American, European and Asia-Pacific points of view.

Putting Skills to Work
|
Chin Foo joined Accenture in 2000 with a masters in computer sciences from the Institut Supérieur d’Electronique de Paris and with a yearlong university research program in Hull, United Kingdom under her belt.
“At that time, most IT students had the choice to either remain technically focused or take a functional role with a project management focus. Accenture’s technology consulting practice allowed me to do both,” Chin Foo explains.

Personal Satisfaction
|
“The greatest satisfaction I have from working at Accenture is the professional and personal growth that I get from daily interactions and challenges,” Chin Foo says. “However, growth may not come through obvious ways. Over the years, I have realized that the most challenging projects I have been involved with were also those that taught me the most—and those are the ones that I’m most proud of.”
Chin Foo says that her Accenture colleagues were always the crucial in the success of the project: Accenture people are some of the smartest and most approachable she has met.
“As part of Accenture’s culture of mentorship, it is always possible for anyone to ask for advice from a more senior person, and everyone is encouraged to share their experiences with more junior colleagues. This knowledge-sharing culture contributes strongly to my personal satisfaction,” Chin Foo concludes.
