These are some concrete examples of how Accenture’s Solutions workforce works with businesses and partners to achieve high performance.
Accenture provided enhanced offshore services for SAP implementation, which led to reduced costs of services for the chemical manufacturer. The project involved a wide technology footprint including SAP, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), APO, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) implementation. The key business drivers were standardisation of processes across the manufacturer’s 23 business units, across the 15 different countries and the corresponding costs savings. The Delivery Centres in India supported the business blueprinting, business case development, 80 percent of the core SAP configuration, technical development (ABAP, XI, BEA) and training services development. By leveraging Accenture assets and methodologies, 60 percent of configuration and development work was carried out from the Accenture Delivery Centres in India.
Accenture used several core components of the NetWeaver stack to develop a centralised financial Master Data Management Solution for a leading European telecommunications company. This solution was required for Sarbanes Oxley (S-OX) compliance in managing the financial master data. The technologies used to build this complex solution included SAP Portals, WebDynPro, SAP Master Data Management (MDM), Exchange Infrastructure (XI), Business WareHouse (BW) and ECC 5.0. The Delivery Centres in India put in up to 90 percent of the development effort, which included detailed design, build and unit testing, integration testing, support for product testing, user acceptance testing and enhancements. To deliver on this complex project, the delivery centres brought strong technical expertise on the SAP NetWeaver Stack. Since financial Master Data Management is an emerging area of interest, SAP and Accenture are now considering certifying this product to make it available for other customers.
Accenture is leveraging its Delivery Centre in India for joint product development work with SAP. Resources from both the companies are working jointly in developing products for the health and life sciences, banking and insurance industries.
