Accenture believes that people are its most important asset, so we spend a considerable amount of time and money on the training and development of our employees. In 2008 the amount spent on employee training and development was more than US$900 million. Training and development is tailored to individual needs and the needs of the business. To complement traditional classroom training, Accenture has developed Accenture myLearning, an innovative, Internet-based training website that brings together Accenture’s learning resources for all its employees.
Accenture places a strong emphasis on continuous learning and development. From the time an employee joins Accenture, he or she is automatically enrolled in training sessions commensurate with his or her role. Accenture myLearning empowers employees to plan their own training needs, allowing them to undertake training at a pace that is convenient to them from their desktops, either in the office or at home. Besides mandatory courses an employee also has the option of taking any of the 20,000 available courses.
The richness of the content and the variety of training and development opportunities provide individuals with the flexibility to choose an individual training path. The tremendous focus on training and development helps make Accenture an employer of choice, and gives it a competitive edge in the marketplace.
Listen to S.Thiagarajan, the Capability Development lead at Accenture in India, speak about training here.
