Q. As a consultant, what will I do if I am not scheduled on an assignment? A. The nature of the work in a consulting environment is project-based. You will be scheduled on an assignment based on your skills and availability. If there is no match with this, you may spend some time in the office. This time may be spent working on business development proposals or research and new business initiatives for your work group, or working on training courses that will enhance your skill set. Note, that if you work as part of Accenture Technology Solutions or as part of Accenture’s Outsourcing business units, you will typically work on long-term client programs.
Q. What support structure is available to me? A. We have a structure in place that will give new hires many points of reference. You will be assigned a permanent, formal career counsellor whose role is to help you achieve your career goals and expectations at Accenture, to provide regular feedback and mentoring. He or she may also be responsible for conducting your performance feedback discussions. You will also find support through your human resources business partner who can help with general queries, as well as those specific to your training, development and first project.
