Accenture Singapore held its inaugural event with members of the university on 14 July, 2009. The event was hosted at Accenture’s newly launched center – Management Consulting Innovation Center (MCIC) at Fusionopolis. The afternoon event was attended by 16 professors and career office partners from the top 3 universities in Singapore.

Teo Lay Lim, the Country Managing Director of Accenture Singapore welcomed the guests with an introduction to the center as well an overview of the current climate for Accenture. Following to that, Paul Gosling, the Growth & Strategy global lead for the Resources Operating Group, familiarized the guests with Accenture’s history, structure and business. Paul also shared his experiences as a management consultant, and described in detail to the guests why Accenture is much more than an IT firm.

To increase the interactions with the guests, Eric van Steen, Senior Manager for the Supply Chain Strategy and Planning for Asean continued the presentation with a study on “Positioning for Growth”. He started with a polling session with the guests to compare their views with that of the upper management from local firms. Eric then led the guests to Accenture’s study and views on this topic. This topic continued with a discussion forum, where the guests exchanged their opinions and outlooks in response to the presentation.

The program ended off with a presentation by Ash Ang from the Graduate Recruitment team drawing guests’ attention to the recruitment programs that Accenture has embarked on for the year. Guests then proceeded for dinner where the professors and Accenture representatives continued in lively discussions and exchanged views on various topics.

The event was attended by 16 professors and Career offices partners from the top 3 universities in Singapore. The event was well received as the guests had the opportunity to better understand and appreciate the vast areas of business of Accenture.
