At Accenture, the groups and units in which our consulting people work are structured to suit our clients and the marketplace, and this directly affects your career development. There are two components–industry expertise and specialized skills–that together define your “specialty”. Your specialty determines your main focus of work and the kind of assignments you get, as well as the approaches and technologies that you’re likely to use. Every member of the Consulting workforce is aligned with one of three consulting groups: Business Consulting, Solutions Engineering or Technology Consulting. These groups enable us to deliver the increasingly specialized skills that clients demand while providing enhanced career opportunities for our people. Business Consulting: Focuses on strategy and take responsibility for organizational change and business transformation. Solutions Engineering: Designs, develops, integrates and delivers of functional and industry solutions and processes based on custom-built systems or existing packages like SAP. Technology Consulting: provides the backbone of our systems integration business by designing enterprise architecture and technology solutions, assessing and diagnosing technology environments, designing technology infrastructure and tuning technology environments for optimal performance. Back to top What You’re likely to Do at Each Career Level Analyst: As an analyst, your emphasis will be on building baseline skills and concepts. Training scenarios are designed to cover specific areas within your consulting group. Consultant: You’ll strengthen your supervisory skills, develop deeper foundation expertise based on your consulting group affiliation. Training is designed to advance both core service lines and skills critical to teamwork and client service. You will most likely train with professionals in other specialties to solve client problems, enabling you to work effectively together to help clients align their people, processes and technology with their strategy. Manager: As a manager, you’ll broaden your project management skills and expand skills based on your consulting group and industry affiliation. At the experienced manager level and above, training focuses on advanced management skills needed by all Accenture professionals to continue to grow professionally. Associate partner: As an associate partner, you’ll deepen specialized skills in business and industry areas, exercise leadership in client projects and expand your entrepreneurial skills. Training focuses on assimilating leading-edge business concepts and methodologies and on strategies for anticipating critical changes to the business environment.
