I joined Accenture in January 2008 as an experienced hire. I chose Accenture because it has a great reputation for training, among other things. And I wanted the benefit of working on large-scale projects. I'd also heard from several sources that the social environment at Accenture was good.

The focus on training was apparent immediately. Courses focus on common career challenges and on more academic knowledge within different areas of expertise. Just as important as formal training is the insight you gain from working with very knowledgeable coworkers in an environment that encourages learning and feedback. Accenture is a company where you're never afraid to ask questions and your curiousity is rewarded, not discouraged.

I've worked mostly on one big development project within the public sector. This has given me a vast area of experience, as roles and tasks have changed throughout my time on the project. I've been working in a team responsible for establishing a new finance shared services function. Among other things, we established processes and routines. I have also had the privilege of being a team lead. I

Accenture is a performance-driven company. We have high standards for our people, but at the same time the company stretches your skills and development. There's also a surprising amount of diversity here. That enables you to create your own path for sucess within the company.

I joined Accenture three years ago after working a couple of years at one of the big four accounting firms. At Accenture I have mainly been working within the Oil & Gas industry with projects related to the finance area. Here I have worked with process improvements, merger integration and shared services.

I enjoy working for Accenture for several reasons. First of all you get to work with interesting clients, both in the private and public sector. You get challenging tasks and are given responsibility early. This might sound a bit frightening at the beginning but the good thing about working at such a large company as Accenture is that it always is
someone else who has been working with the same problem and is
eager to help you. It’s part of the culture at Accenture to ask questions
and there is always an expert that you can reach out to. This also leads
to my second reason for choosing Accenture; my colleagues.

The people working here are talented and inspiring and this leads to a very good working environment. Being a consulting company, training is a vital part of developing the employees. There are several opportunities for developing general consulting skills or more specific skills towards the Finance & Performance Management practice. You can choose to specialize in one certain area or develop more general management consulting skills. I have had the chance to attend several courses, both locally and internationally. The latter has given me the opportunity to travel and meet colleagues from all over the world to learn new topics and share project experiences.
