Describe your background

I have a Master of Science degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). I got that in 1998. I started working for Accenture 8 years ago in January 1999.

During that time I worked with clients within Government, Finance and Communication & High Tech. Most of my experience is within Systems Integration and Technology Architecture. One of the most interesting projects I did was to set up a complete mobile operator in Pakistan. All the development was carried out at our Delivery Center in Madrid, and we spent in total 9 months to set up a full mobile operator, with infrastructure, CRM system, middleware and billing system.

I left Accenture in 2005 to work with Business Intelligence (BI) for SAS Institute. During this time I was responsible for some large BI programs. One program of special interest was for a large oil & gas customer where BI was fully integrated as part of the company’s daily operations. Huge yearly savings and an improved way of working was the outcome.

I was recruited back to Accenture, and started November 2006. This time to head up Accenture Information Management Services (AIMS) in Norway.

Why did you choose Accenture?

I am very excited about being allowed to build AIMS in Norway. I see it as a very good opportunity given that the market for information management is really taking off now.

I believe Accenture is in a unique position to win in the race for being the best provider of information management consulting as we have a strong position with our clients and understand their business far better than the traditional vendors within Business Intelligence, Content Management, Portal and Search technologies.

What do you like most about your job?

The best thing about being in AIMS is to be allowed at an early stage to be part of building up the practice. Those who join AIMS now at this point in time will be able to look back in a few years and say: “I made a difference in growing the practice and our people.”

What are you working on now?

My main goal now is to triple the headcount of the Norwegian AIMS practice by the end of FY07. We are also aligning people to AIMS so that we make the community bigger, counting around 30 people in the near future.

We are recruiting both from internal and external. With the reorganization taking place, it makes sense to move those that fit from the OG’s and into AIMS. Specifically we are looking for people with understanding or interest within Data Management, Business Intelligence, Search and Portal technology. Applicants should have a solid technology background as well as an understanding for the business/functional side. I encourage people who think Information Management is an interesting area, either for them self or for their clients, to send me any questions they might have.
