Describe your background

In 1999 I got a Master’s in Business and Economics from the Norwegian School of Management. I specialized in economics and technology management. When I finished my studies, I started at a major Scandinavian bank in Norway. I stayed there for six years working on financing real estate financing and mortgage lending. I used to compete in downhill skiing and coach other skiers in my spare time. I still find time to my different hobbies like, skiing, riding, climbing and hunting.

Why did you choose Accenture?

I’ve always been interested in consulting because of the project variety and the prospect of meeting different people. I knew about Accenture through friends who all had good things to say about it. And I wanted to try something other than banking. I can use my knowledge and experience from banking and finance every day, but in a new setting and with a new perspective. I find this very positive and motivating, and at the same time I learn new things about this industry every day.

What do you like most about your job?

At Accenture I can combine my knowledge of the banking industry and apply that to clients in different countries, and in different angles of the business. That’s been exciting. I feel like Accenture really cares about my development. I have the option to explore different aspects of the banking industry—or branch out to new industries. I’ve had continual training and have gone to a number of educational programs that make my skills that much more valuable. There is a high level of knowledge here and the staff is so motivated and eager to team, perform, and learn!

What are you working on now?

Right now I’m working on the functional design of a credit system for a major Norwegian bank. It’s been very challenging, and exciting. We’re helping the client completely revamp their current system and adopt one that will increase efficiency and reduce cost.
