As part of our Consulting workforce, you could play a central role in developing, selling and managing multi-faceted projects that draw on the whole range of our skills and services. As a result, you may find yourself leading and managing teams of people from different workforces and countries. We need people who are able to challenge conventional thought, offer unique perspectives and conceive more innovative solutions for our clients.
There are two components – industry expertise and specialized skills – that together define your role and determine your main focus of work and the kind of assignments you will get, as well as the approaches and technologies that you’re likely to use.
The first component – industry expertise – is based on delivering our services and solutions through five Operating Groups: Communications & High Tech, Financial Services, Products and Resources. These groups provide an in-depth understanding of particular industries in the marketplace.
The second component – specialized skills – means that we also have Capability Groups that offer cross-industry expertise in particular skills areas (e.g., Strategy, Customer Relationship Management, Finance & Performance Management, Technology Architecture, and many more). If you choose, as your career progresses, you can become highly knowledgeable and experienced in one industry sector or capability.
Finally, every member of the Consulting workforce is aligned with one of the following Workgroups which represent your career options when you join the company:
Consultants in the Business Consulting workgroup focus on organizational change and business transformation. They apply market-relevant skills such as business strategy, supply chain management, Talent & Organization Performance and customer relationship management across industries.
Consulting professionals in the Business & Systems Integration Consulting workgroup deliver large-scale, complex programs that marry processes with technology to help our clients achieve high performance. They specialize in the design, development, integration and delivery of functional and industry solutions and processes for clients based on existing packages such as SAP or custom-built systems.
In the Technology Consulting workgroup, consultants deliver technology innovation and provide the backbone of our systems integration business. They design and deliver large-scale enterprise architecture and technology solutions, assess and diagnose technology environments, create technology infrastructure such as networks, security and platforms, set technology strategies, and tune technology environments for optimal performance.
Which operating group you join as a new graduate depends on your skills, interests and Accenture's business need.
Most of our consulting people work at client sites or in Accenture offices. Some client site engagements can be lengthy and a long way from home. We make sure our people stay connected to their Accenture colleagues, supported by a robust communications infrastructure. And we have a flexible approach that encourages you to strike the right balance between your personal life and work, especially if that work involves considerable travel. Apply now!
