Describe your background

I graduated from the Faculty of International Business and Economics in Bucharest and, during the last year of university, I spent six months studying in Italy, as part of the Erasmus program (it was my first contact with a truly ‘multinational’ environment, and a great learning and development opportunity). I joined Accenture soon after my graduation, in 2005.

Since I've mainly been working in the area of change management and organization design/reorganization, I decided to deepen my studies in a related area and I enrolled for a master’s in managerial communication and Human Resources, that I am about to complete.

Why did you choose Accenture?

At the time when I was hired, the only information I had about Accenture was from its international website (there was not yet a part dedicated to Romania), and from the selection process. I was eager to join this company because it seemed to have a positive image, great core values, a solid knowledge base and experience in many areas that I was interested in. As a fresh graduate, I loved the idea of working for a consulting company, finding solutions where other people see mainly problems. And I was also attracted by the multinational environment Accenture seemed to offer.

During the selection process, I was won over by the professionalism I perceived in everything—from the way this process was organized, to the people I've had the interviews with.

All in all, I chose Accenture because it seemed a great place to start my career and to develop in.

What do you like most about your job?

I love the diversity of the environment in which I work—the chance to collaborate with people from different backgrounds, different countries, in different types of projects, in different industries.

I also like very much the open communication between people at all levels that makes our company a truly global network. I appreciate the fact that I was given the possibility to travel abroad (for training and project work), which is one thing I had always dreamed about.

However, what I like most about my work are the people I've had the chance to work with. They are the kind of people that you always have something to learn from, that inspire you to do your best, even in difficult moments; the kind that try to understand you and help you; the kind that you stay friends with even if you don’t see each other for years and years, and that you'll always remember because they helped you 'grow', not only professionally but also personally.

What are you working on now?

I am currently working on a very interesting organizational design project for a big company operating in the resources industry. We are helping the client design and implement an organizational solution aimed at balancing the workforce in the company.
