Give me the short answer: Why should I join Accenture?
Do you have any informal corporate events? Yes, you will have fun by participating in a range of regular social and cultural activities through the project group events and office’s common initiatives, for example, Accenture Football Cup.
What amount of travel should I expect? The amount of travel is dependent upon your role and project, but can vary from zero to 80 percent.
Will I work in the office or on the client-site? Most of our consulting people work at client sites, but some are based in Accenture’s offices. Some client site engagements can be lengthy and a long way from home. We make sure our people stay connected to their Accenture colleagues, family and friends, supported by our robust communications infrastructure.
Is there a dress-code in Accenture? What do people wear? Yes, our dress code policy is business casual. However, onsite, our consultants dress according to clients’ guidelines. So if our clients wear suits, so do we. On Friday we have “casual” day, where one can wear casual clothes (such as jeans).
Will I have overtimes during my work in Accenture? Our standard working hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., but you might need to work longer hours according to your project/workgroup need. This rule is incorporated to the contract and you will receive five additional days of annual vacation as compensation.
What level can I join Accenture? Starting level is dependant on your previous experience and education level. University students may join Accenture as interns while graduates usually start at the analyst level. Your level of skill is assessed during the hiring process, and it will determine at what level you enter Accenture.
Do you have a formal mentoring program? Each consultant is assigned a career counselor (one or two levels above). The career counselor’s responsibilities include helping the consultant manage his or her career, training, project assignments. At the beginning of the year, the consultant designs a development plan and reviews it with the career counselor. The plan is tracked and adjusted throughout the year. At the end of the year, the career counselor is responsible for gathering everything needed to assess the performance of the consultant and making plans for next year.
How does your evaluation system work? You will receive regular development feedback from both a career counselor and other informal mentors with whom you establish coaching relationships. You are also provided objectives and feedback/ratings on every engagement. Formal evaluations are held twice a year, while promotions are announced once a year, in September.
Is there an opportunity to transfer within the organization? Our people do transfer between departments during their careers. However, this depends on business needs and having the right skills/experience for the role in question. Graduates typically need a few years to get the basics in training, learn new skills and experience different projects, so it is important you really research which area you want to join at the application stage.
Will I get the opportunity to work abroad? Most of projects you will be assigned to will be Russia-based. However there are occasional opportunities to travel depending on particular projects and whether your skills and experience are relevant.
What will I do if I am not scheduled on a project? Our work is project-based. You will be scheduled on an assignment based on your skills and availability. If there is no suitable project, you may spend some time in the office. This time may be spent working on business development proposals, research on new business initiatives for your workgroup, or working on training courses that will enhance your skill set.
