This January, 44 students from the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University spent an evening networking with Accenture employees at the Singapore office. The event, An Evening with Accenture, aimed to introduce a diverse group of undergraduates to the culture and graduate consulting opportunities in various Accenture work groups.
Country Managing Director Ms Teo Lay Lim commenced the evening with an overview of Accenture along with significant emphasis on work-life balance and corporate citizenship activities. In line with the theme for the evening ‘Go to Places Others Can’t’, the students participated in various breakout sessions to gain in-depth knowledge about the work groups: Management Consulting and Integrated Markets, Technology Consulting and Systems Integration. The evening concluded with a cocktail session where students could talk to Accenture recruiters and members of the different work groups.
Vaibhav Narayan, a former intern and final-year undergraduate at the National University of Singapore said that the session had been highly informative and had enabled him to maintain his networks with the Accenture community. Through the networking session, Accenture was also able to create a deep impression in the minds of students. Former intern and Nanyang Technological University undergraduate Alvin Tan said, “I was constantly and profoundly amazed by the quality and professionalism of the work conducted and Accenture became the choice place I want to start my career with.”
The lively networking session included a crossword puzzle competition. Congratulations to lucky winner Alvin Tan walked away with an iPod shuffle.
The Singapore office will be carrying out more graduate recruitment activities in the upcoming months, including The Accenture Experience which will give students to opportunity to experience a day in the life of a consultant. Stay tuned for more activities coming up!
