As each workforce contributes to our business a unique way, and offers a different career experience depending on your skills, career objectives and the type of work environment you want to work in—they each have a distinct recruitment process which applies.

The duration of the entire recruitment process is approximately two to three weeks.

The Consulting Recruitment Process Consists of Six Steps:

  1. The Initial Step
Involves receipt of a comprehensive curriculum vitae and academic transcripts. A minimum requirement is a degree from a recognised tertiary institution. Based on the needs that exist within the company and demand for certain skills, resumes are matched and successful candidates contacted to attend an interview. Please note: Only South African citizens or permanent residents will be considered for employment opportunities.

  2. Human Resources (HR) Interview
This is the initial step of the interviewing process. The HR interview is typically conducted by a recruiting specialist. The focus of this interview is to determine what your teamwork and leadership capabilities are as well as discuss your career aspirations and how they would link to Accenture and the opportunities that we offer.

  3. Case Study Interview
Candidates that are successful through the initial interview are invited to attend a case study interview. This is a scenario based role-play that has been specifically designed to simulate potential scenarios that you could be faced with in a consulting environment.

  4. Skills Assessment Interview
Based on the various observations made over the previous two steps, candidates are selected for a more focused skills interview. The skills assessment is typically conducted by a manager and aims to align a candidate to a particular market unit based on the skills demonstrated as well as to assess the compatibility of the applicants skills and experience with current demands.

  5. Senior Executive Interview
This is the final step in the interview process and provides confirmation from a strategic perspective as to where exactly the candidate would best fit into the organisation i.e. the various operating groups, the correct level and the finer details are ironed out

  6. HR Wrap-Up
Once all the recommendations are complete, a recruiting specialist will complete the cycle by closing all outstanding information required.

The Services Recruitment Process Consists of Five Steps:

  1. Vacancy
When a vacancy exists at an Outsourcing engagement it is advertised both internally and externally. The advert's job specification will indicate formal IT qualifications, skills and and experience required. Submitted curriculum vitas will be reviewed and compared and successful candidates contacted for an Human Resources (HR) interview. Please note: Only South African citizens or permanent residents will be considered for employment opportunities.

  2. HR Interview
This is the initial step of the interviewing process. A Recruiting Specialist typically conducts the HR interview—the objective is to determine a candidates IT skills, relevant experience, as well as teamwork capabilities. Career aspirations will be discussed and how they link to the opportunities offered in Accenture’s Services workforce.

  3. Skills Assessment Interview
Based on the assessment made during the HR interview, the strongest candidates will be short-listed and invited to attend a more focused skills interview. This assessment is typically conducted by a Manager or Team Lead at the related outsourcing project and aims to align the candidate to a particular skill track based on their IT skills as well as to assess the compatibility of the applicants’ skills and experience with the job description and current demand. This is typically the final step in the recruitment process.

  4. Senior Executive Interview
This step is not always required and depends on the level and complexity of the position. When necessary this is the final step in the interview process and provides confirmation from a strategic perspective as to where exactly the candidate would best fit into the outsourcing organisation i.e. the skill track and speciality, the correct level and the finer details are ironed out.

  5. HR Wrap-Up
Once all the interview documentation and recommendations are complete, a Recruiting Specialist will complete the cycle by finalising and closing off all outstanding information required.

Accenture culture fit, teamwork, adaptability, communication skills and decision making will be assessed in this interview. The candidate also has the opportunity to ask questions and to find out more about the benefits of joining Accenture.

  3. Manager Interview/s
This interview focuses on skills and assesses a candidate’s knowledge, technical ability and suitability for the job. One or two interviews may be conducted (in some cases by a panel.) Following this, a recommendation will be made by the executive conducting the interview. Successful candidates will be made a formal offer of employment.
