Consulting Our consulting team is at the very heart of what we do here at Accenture — it uses a deep knowledge of business, industry and technology to help our clients improve in every area of their business. Consulting professionals belong to one of three workgroups – Management Consulting, Business & Systems Integration Consulting, or Technology Consulting. Most consultants are deployed to either the Management Consulting or the Systems Integration & Technology growth platform – this is their “home.” They focus mainly on project delivery and are given the opportunity to work across several industry groups, developing a broad set of skills in a variety of areas. Depending on career goals and business need, individuals may be given the option of aligning with, and eventually being deployed solely to, a single industry group, where they can focus on selling our solutions and managing client relationships. Some people who come to us with significant industry experience are deployed straight to an Operating Group rather than a growth platform, where they will continue to deepen their expertise in this sector. This provides greater opportunities to build a portfolio of market-relevant, transferable skills in specialist areas.

Services (Outsourcing) Outsourcing people work on Accenture’s outsourced projects. They are skilled professionals who specialize in a variety of areas including finance, human resources, customer care and IT. Oursourcing improves clients’ key business functions by freeing them up to focus on what they do best—their core businesses, thereby enabling them to work more efficiently. Professionals in the Services workforce are deployed to our Outsourcing growth platform where they join one of four workgroups: Client Operations; Project-based, BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) Businesses and Delivery Centers. Client Operations people can be based permanently at a client’s office, where they are responsible for providing long-term outsourcing services to that company. Project-based professionals tend to work in Accenture or client offices, providing the business or service delivery expertise necessary to support our outsourcing engagements. BPO Businesses professionals support our BPO offerings in areas such as finance and accounting, procurement, customer service and human resources. Increasingly, Services people are based in one of our delivery centers, specialising in offering services to our clients at a fraction of the cost required to run these processes in-house.

Accenture Technology Solutions Accenture Technology Services is a global network of technology experts who offers a ‘start-to-finish’ approach to technology challenges. A wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture, the team is made up of IT enthusiasts who focus on application development, systems administration and software maintenance—the accent, though, is always on practical, workable solutions. Accenture Technology Solutions experts are deployed to the Systems Integration & Technology growth platform, where they focus on implementing the hands-on, practical technology work needed to support Accenture’s solution delivery. The work involves applying systems integration and application outsourcing expertise across different technologies and industries, designing solutions and performing application development and software maintenance work. There are many different areas to specialise in, but above all, working for Accenture Technology Solutions means working with cutting-edge technology on a global scale.

Enterprise Enterprise is Accenture’s internal workforce – efficiently managing and supporting all activities across our business. Enterprise people work in areas such as finance, HR, legal, facilities and services, or marketing and communications. Enterprise is the engine that powers Accenture, enabling us to provide the capabilities and expertise that clients demand to help them become high-performance businesses. Each workforce is divided into “workgroups,” according to the specific skills or services they offer. This approach allows us to provide a wide range of specialised career options to suit people’s very different career goals and expectations.
