Industry Expertise At Accenture we work with clients across all industries, offering a range of business and technology services. Our consulting people are organised into specific groups that determine which clients they work with, and which service areas they specialise in.
Accenture's consulting business is structured around industry groups, which cover virtually every industry worldwide, as follows (click on the links below to get additional information about these different industries. These links will take you through to the relevant section on accenture.co.za)
Market-facing Approach Every member of the Consulting workforce is aligned with one of three workgroups – Business Consulting, Business & Systems Integration Consulting, or Technology Consulting. These workgroups enable us to deliver the increasingly specialised skills that clients demand while providing enhanced career opportunities for our people. As the market increasingly treats skills as commodities, professionals with specialised knowledge will become increasingly valued. The structure provides outstanding opportunities to develop highly specialised skills that will help you advance in your career.
Consultants in the Business Consulting workgroup focus on strategy and take responsibility for organisational change and business transformation. They apply market-relevant skills such as business strategy and customer relationship management across industries. Alternatively, they may specialise in industry-specific functional areas such as insurance claims processing or pharmaceutical research and development. The majority of our work in Business Consulting falls within certain key specialties and you are likely to find yourself building deep skills in one of these areas:
Consulting professionals in the Business & Systems Integration Consulting workgroup are responsible for delivering large-scale, complex programmes that marry processes with technology to help our clients achieve high performance. They specialise in the design, development, integration and delivery of functional and industry solutions and processes for clients based on existing packages such as SAP and PeopleSoft, Retek, or custom-built systems.
In the Technology Consulting workgroup, consultants are responsible for delivering technology innovation and providing the backbone of our systems integration business. They specialise in designing enterprise architecture and technology solutions, assessing and diagnosing technology environments, designing technology infrastructure such as networks, security and platforms, setting technology strategies, and tuning technology environments for optimal performance.
