Getting the job

Frequently Asked Questions

What level of English and computer skills are required to be considered for the recruitment process?

Is there an advantage in having a university degree with a major subject?
There are prerequisites in terms of the major subjects required. In reality Accenture employees come from diverse academic backgrounds. Accenture places more value on problem-solving ability than it does on subject specialization in any particular area. However applicants can aim for project work that is aligned with subjects they have studied.

Any major subject can be applied at Accenture, and there are no major subjects that will place candidates at a disadvantage, as this is only one among many areas considered in the recruitment process.

How are new recruits assigned to a project after joining Accenture?
On joining Accenture, new recruits are assigned to one of Accenture’s growth platforms, based on their educational background and skills as well as their preferences.

Lifestyle

Will I feel lost working in such a huge organization?
Accenture is certainly big, but it is made up of smaller, more manageable communities so you will soon feel at home in one of these. You will quickly make friends with colleagues who share your specialisation and with other Accenture staff on the projects you work on. You will soon have your own personal and professional network within the organisation.

What are the people really like?
Accenture people are diverse. They come from all backgrounds and all communities and bring a wealth of talents with them.

How will working at Accenture affect my lifestyle?
Hopefully you will find an improvement in your lifestyle. You will certainly find your work life more challenging, more stimulating and more rewarding. We encourage work life balance. Our recreational club offers engaging activities throughout the year.

Is it possible to work on other projects outside the Accenture Seoul office?
Yes it is possible, because Accenture is a global company. So if you have the ability and skills that are needed, you can be assigned to an alternative engagement that may be located in another Accenture office. Once your project/assignment is completed, you can return to the Seoul office. Accenture offers opportunities to participate in global projects.

Challenges

How will I find joining Accenture as an experienced hire?
Stimulating—is the only word to describe it. Your previous experience will be immediately recognized and harnessed by the area you join. The combination of familiar territory and new ways of working may need a little getting used to—but the immense satisfaction gained by putting your expertise to work is, for many, the greatest reward of a move to Accenture.

What will make the work continually challenging and is it interesting?
People at Accenture answer this question with a smile, because work at Accenture is the way work ought to be—constantly stimulating and varied. Every day is different. That may sound challenging now, but the stimulation that new situations and people provide will make you think more deeply, perform more effectively and continue to grow as a professional throughout your time with us. Accenture structures your career to help you to be the best.

Is working at Accenture as tough as I have heard?
It is certainly challenging and the learning curve can be steep for a while. If you are uncomfortable with change, do not like new situations and lose patience under pressure, then Accenture may not be the place for you. If, however, you enjoy performing to the best of your abilities (and constantly expanding those abilities as you work), and really making a difference to the projects you engage in, then the only aspect of life at Accenture you may find tough is trying to imagine how you ever enjoyed working anywhere else.
