Carlo joined Accenture to work at the Shared Service Centre at Thomas Cook in 2008 with a background in Business Intelligence. Accenture Services offered me a unique opportunity to be a part of a large outsourcing project with a well-known client, Thomas Cook. I realised that not only would I gain experience of Business Intelligence (BI) development for the client, but I would enjoy being part of a successful and award winning example of a large scale outsourcing project environment. Now I’m here, the best thing is being able to make an impact on the client's operations and see visible results.Working in the Business Information Services team within Finance and Accounting Division, I develop and support BI/Management Information reporting solutions for the Tour Operations division for Thomas Cook. I work closely with on-shore and off-shore teams at Accenture, as well as the client's Finance and Business analysts. I am based at the client's site in Peterborough, which is a distance from Accenture's offices in London. However, we regularly have Unit meetings and are kept up-to-date with Accenture emails that keep us informed of the company's news and updates.The work environment here is great, from day one the people onshore and offshore have been friendly and happy to help with any queries. The office is open plan and although it can become quite loud and busy, we have dress-down Fridays, which helps to create a more relaxed environment.In the future I want to manage projects and lead teams and hope to achieve this with Accenture. There’s the chance to develop a range of business skills here and plenty of opportunities.
