A Senior Manager, Darren joined the Services workforce this year. Working in the digital content business since the late 1990’s I specialised in the emerging digital and mobile music industry over the past six years. I now represent Digiplug to Mobile Network Operators, Device manufacturers, Media companies, rights owners and record labels worldwide - organisations all equally challenged by the current transformation of the recorded music industry. Did you know that Accenture, through Digiplug, are already responsible for creating between 50% and 75% of all legally acquired ringtones from major label artists in most European countries? As Business Development Director I spend my time building relationships with customers and potential clients for Digiplug and Accenture Digital Media Services. I try to find new ways to solve problems for our customers and increase the ways in which we can generate revenues from our service teams, technical resources and platforms. This mainly relates to creating or improving digital music services, either from an end user perspective or the essential processes, relationships and technology behind the scenes.Accenture is respected worldwide as an exceptional organisation with the talent and scale to deliver success to demanding clients, often in very difficult or challenging circumstances. No industry is in need of this kind of help as much as the music industry, and no other organisation has the scale to respond like Accenture. Now Digiplug is part of Accenture I wanted to join to help shape the way in which people will enjoy music in the future - reinventing the way music is consumed via exciting new services and devices, whilst ensuring it is practical and easy for the artists and writers to get fairly paid for their work.I was helped to find my bearings when I joined with significant induction, having an ongoing relationship with a great Career Counsellor and regularly getting the opportunity to spend time with colleagues worldwide. The people here are passionate and exceptionally knowledgeable about our business area, with the unique advantage over competitors of being within a sound business structure. The sheer size of the organisation is hard to deal with sometimes – I’m used to smaller firms and start-ups. However I manage to get the best of both worlds with the extensive corporate scale of Accenture and the exciting, entrepreneurial environment of Digiplug. In the future I have ambitions to deliver significant deals from new clients that have not worked with Accenture before and aim to expand existing relationships with clients to include content services.
