Jeeten joined Accenture from having worked at Fujitsu Services in a number of roles. He now works at BT in Service Introduction as part of the Services workforce. What attracted me to Accenture was the importance the company placed on making a difference to the client and seeing how long term strategic partnerships have continued to grow. This to me showed the value clients place on having Accenture’s services to assist them growing their business.My first few days were spent within the Accenture office amongst other peers and those who I would be interacting with on a regular basis. They spent time explaining the process, history and deliverables and the role we play within the client's business to ensure I had a good overview before I started my role at BT. I then spent a month shadowing a colleague who I would eventually take over from. During this time, I took the lead on a number of activities to ensure the handover was as smooth as possible.Despite being out on a client site, you still feel part of Accenture. At BT there are a number of events that take place to bring the wider team together, such as the monthly Service Introduction meetings and a number of social activities. In terms of the bigger organisation, you get invited to attend events and web casts to ensure you are kept up to date with what is happening within Accenture. You also have access to the Accenture Portal which has the latest information and news.The best thing here for me is knowing that you are adding value to the client's business and making a difference. Speaking to those around me, you can clearly see how much experience everyone has from the various roles they have had before and this certainly helps. Everybody is very friendly and shares knowledge. At the time of writing this, I have only been with Accenture for a few months, however I would like to continue to grow the area I am responsible for and spread the word about how Service Introduction adds value to each and every project. Long term aims would be growth for the account, and ensuring I am constantly challenged in any role that I take up.
