Summer Vacation Scheme
Need to know more

Real responsibility on a real Accenture project over the summer – with a real salary too.

Sunflowers

This eight-week scheme gives first or penultimate-year undergraduates a good look at what we do – and how we do it.

Lasting from July to August, it starts with a one-week induction that will give you a solid grounding in business and technology consultancy, as well as valuable commercial skills.

Then you’ll embark on a project which could be based anywhere in our business. Rather than just shadowing someone, you’ll be a fully-fledged member of the team right from the start, with responsibilities that could involve testing software, conducting research, writing reports or analysing data.

We’ll give you a ‘buddy’ who’ll be there to offer help and advice whenever you need it. And we’ll also pay you a competitive salary and provide accommodation for the duration of the scheme. If you perform well, we may offer you a permanent role with us after you graduate.

Salary: £20,000 pro-rata

Could I qualify?

First of all, you’ll be a first or penultimate year student. Typically you will have achieved 320 UCAS points at A-level with a predicted 2.1 or equivalent in any degree discipline. Although you won’t have to be an IT expert already, you must be keen to learn about technology and be prepared to live away from home for the summer.

Other summer options?

If it’s your dream to learn about other countries and cultures, and help out on a project there, you could do that over the summer instead.

Accenture Development Partnerships is a charitable organisation that makes high-quality consulting services available to organisations working with developing economies. Here, people can apply their skills to drive economic and social development.

Read about the recent experiences of three summer interns who are currently working on assignments in Namibia, India and Kenya with Accenture Development Partnerships.

We’ll pay for your flights, accommodation, visas and vaccinations. As this is a charitable project, we pay you 50% of the summer vacation scheme salary - which previous participants tell us is more than enough to live on while you’re abroad.

Please note:You will need to state your interest in this type of internship at your interview. Also, please be aware that there will be an additional selection interview once an offer for a place on the Summer Vacation Scheme has been extended.

Applications close on 21st December 2007.
