Raymundo Sanchez enjoys a leadership position within the Oracle Development team at the Delivery Center in San Antonio. While Raymundo is well-grounded on the technical side—having a Bachelor of Computer Science\Information Systems from University of Houston/Victoria, and being an Oracle Programming Specialist—the Accenture work exposes him to opportunities that go well beyond technology in the quest to help clients become high-performance businesses and governments.

“Working at Accenture has been a very rewarding experience for me,” Raymundo says. “It has given me an opportunity to take the next step in fulfilling my goal of becoming a leader/manager.”

Currently Raymundo is working on a project in the defense industry where Accenture is implementing an Oracle Financials Application. A key aspect of his leadership position is helping to ensure that constant communication is maintained between the team and senior management.

Within Accenture’s ongoing learning environment, mentoring is the order of the day and no matter what level a person occupies, he or she is both a recipient and a provider of knowledge and information. Raymundo says one of his roles is to provide training and mentoring support for team members. There is no end to the variety that his Accenture position incorporates: among his other day-to-day tasks Raymundo manages project deliverables, provides peer reviews, develops technical designs and builds interfaces, reports, extensions and conversions to support new systems.

Working at Accenture has given Raymundo numerous opportunities to work with various areas of new technology as well as receive extensive training, which has been very beneficial to both him and his team.

“Accenture provides an environment which enables people to broaden their horizons and achieve their goals. Not only has it been a benefit for me, but for my family as well. The quality of life that Accenture provides helps me and my family enjoy the time we have together,” he says.

Having put himself through college, Raymundo is clearly an independent spirit, open to the prospects that a company of Accenture’s size and global reach offers. “I have not yet had the opportunity to work on a project with colleagues from across the world, but would be eager to do so,” he says.

Raymundo enjoys spending time with his “wonderful wife” as well as two teenage boys who “keep me on my toes from time to time.” He says his sons are both very active in sports and enjoy working out, “so I try to stay in shape in hopes that I can keep up!”
